Project Home

On Saturday, July 19, three members traveled to the National Pike Park launch site to use up some motors and test 2015 TARC recovery. The weather was great. We used the launch rails provided by NARHAMS (launch club).

Here is a video of the launch site.

Objectives

  • Practice with two separate recovery devices - streamer for the booster and parachute for the cargo.
  • Use up some old motors from the spring.

Lessons

  • The green rocket flew nice and we got some reasonable data.
  • The yellow rocket chute ejection got stuck in the body, and the rocket crashed. The altimeter now fails.
  • The NARHAMS launch rails worked fine.
