Explorer Post 1010 Lockheed Martin Exploring Program Tests and Results |
We have been playing around with various ejection charge systems and material. Last year, one of our teams used a timer to activate the charge. The timer was triggered by an accelerometer. They built the charge device from a small light bulb and crimson powder. This year we acquired some Pyrodex. We also figured out how to statically trigger the timer by bypassing the accelerometer Here is a video of a static test using different amounts of Pyrodex.
