We had a great year and learned some very good lessons. Many of
our members are leaving for college, but perhaps we can remember these
lessons for next year.
Good
- Building with standard parts proved to
be valuable. Team 1 was able to pull parts from several rockets
to make a winning rocket.
- Two teams at Nationals.
- Seventh place overall.
- Professional freeballing.
- Tons of swag.
- Teamwork and dedication -- all three
teams
- No CATOs.
- Successful experiments with pyrotechnic
ejection charges
- Use of a timer for ejection by Team 2
Bad
- Team 2 missed the Nationals.
- Lawn dart of Team 2 backup rocket.
- Some punks took one of our boosters at
a local launch site.
- Launching with seven minutes remaining
in the launch window.
- The trees kept eating our rockets.
- Not being first.
- Taking a soldering iron and large
battery pack onto the launch field.
- Never finishing the electronic rocket.
- Wolfenstein wasted time.
- Miss placed and damaged electronic
parts.
Ugly
- Cooking a croissant on the launch pad.
- Greg throwing a croissant at other
team.
- Marcus going shirtless.
- The Minnesota cow team.
- The giant Texas flag
