This is a day to reflect on what we did
good and how we can improve.
The Good
- Team 93 won the double
elimination, seeding rounds, and overall tournament.
- All three teams did great in
documentation and presentation.
- There was good sportsmanship
and spirit.
- We had good new member
participation.
- Incoming freshmen and
sophomores were mentored by juniors and especially seniors.
- Team 93 had a checklist and
they used it.
- Having a separate day for
documentation tasks worked well.
- Teams had starting guides and
alignment checks.
- The game strategies were
effective.
- Winning required an offense
and luck.
- Judges liked different code
and strategies between seeding and double elimination.
The Bad
- Didn't use the metal part connectors.
- Didn't use many sensors.
- Checklists (lack thereof).
- Sportsmanship (lack thereof).
- Structural integrity could
have been better.
- Needed better testing methods,
including full up tests (start to finish).
- We didn't use all the time
(stopped with 30 seconds to go).
- Starting positions were a big
variable.
- Need to be thorough and
detailed with backup code.
- Lack of reliability and
repeatability.
- The final week crunch.
The Ugly
- Forgot to turn on the Create.
- Didn't read the rules about
not cutting the metal.
- Leaving parts on board after
competition.
- Modifying code without a
backup or recovery.
- Don't commit botacide.
- Galcon
On to Norman, Oklahoma.
